Aacer Flooring vice president of sales and marketing, Kevin Barker, announced the completion of the wood sports floor installation in the McCann Center at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
The 34-year old facility was retrofit with a ScissorLoc DC subfloor system by Aacer Sports Flooring, complete with the PowerVent airflow system to ensure environmental control below the Northern Hard Rock Maple surface.
“The new maple floor surface combined with the technology of the ScissorLoc DC with PowerVent really moves Marist into an elite group of schools that boast this type of performance,” said Barker.
ScissorLoc DC promotes high performance features that benefit the athletes and owner together. The Sub-floor is FSC certified and promotes green dimensional lumber that does not use glues or adhesives.
"I think what we've created here is one of the finest on-campus arenas in the Northeast," said Tim Murray, Marist's athletic director.
The 3,200-seat facility, which will be the home of the Red Foxes' basketball and women's volleyball teams, boasts numerous improvements — like chair-back seats, a state of the art new playing surface and a pair of high-definition video boards, among others.
Dumont Flooring in N.J., in conjunction with Miller Flooring in Pa., teamed up to complete the installation, an easy choice considering the more than 2.0 million square feet of ScissorLoc installed by Miller Flooring in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey. |
