In a move to further reflect the designer-driven showrooms and types of customers they attract, AmericasMart is introducing a fashion-forward space called “HOME & DESIGN,” on the newly refurbished 14th Floor of Building 1 that will debut at The Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market, which will take place Jan. 11 through18 (Temporaries: Jan. 13 through 17), with the Atlanta International Area Rug Market featuring the National Oriental Rug Show taking place Jan. 12 through15
(Temporaries: Jan. 13 through15).
The design center floor was created to speak to both the interior design community and specialty retailers while complementing other permanent home showrooms on Floors 9 through13. Because HOME & DESIGN is a juried floor — in which showrooms are exclusively selected for their lifestyle or design product — exhibitors will naturally “feed off” and support each other.
Another advantage for the design community and specialty retailers is that “HOME & DESIGN,” will also serve as a bridge between AmericasMart Atlanta and its sister property, Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC) — the Southeast’s premier design center.
HOME & DESIGN’s mission is to establish Floor 14 vendors as a resource for the interior design community — which means that showrooms are open every day, and are focused on making it comfortable and easy to do business, such as customizin product.
Collections are approached from a classic, traditional standpoint but have an updated, modern look. They are also built season to season, so products coordinate with a particular color or pattern. Complementing the stunning transformation of the 14th floor will be a variety of celebrity-led seminars, such as “Our Life in Design,” presented by interior designers Mary McDonald and Nathan Turner; “Patina Style: Experiencing Design in Person and Online by Steve and Brooke Giannetti of Velvet & Linen,” and “Daily Design: How the Everyday Inspirations from Blogs Change the Industry, Presented by Heather Clawson of Habitually Chic, Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan of Apartment Therapy and Christiane Lemieux of Dwellstudio.
