Mohawk Industries has announced it will introduce a new click luxury vinyl tile line during first quarter 2012. The 4mm line will feature a Uniclic locking system and will be available in 14 wood décors.

Roger Farabee, senior vice president of marketing, Unilin Flooring, a division of Mohawk Hard Surfaces, said the new click LVT will be composed of 100 percent virgin vinyl.

“There’s a danger of vinyl products using recycled content, particularly from Asia,” he said. “Those products typically use material from products produced over five years ago. Our testing has shown these recycled products can contain lead and other heavy metals as well as mercury and banned plasticizers which can create VOC issues in the home.”
